I'm Captain Jason, and Cool Runnings fishes the same blue water that runs off the Boynton Inlet every morning. The difference is where we launch. Every trip leaves from Cox Landing in Fort Lauderdale, about a 35 minute drive south down I-95 from Boynton Beach Boulevard.
Boynton has a marina, but the offshore charter fleet up here is thin. Broward's tournament boats are better rigged, better run, and 15 minutes from the Gulf Stream. I run north from Cox Landing and drop lines in your home water off Ocean Ridge, so you're fishing Boynton from a stronger deck. Boynton Beach guests roll out of their driveway around 5:45 AM and pull into Cox Landing before 6:30 AM. It's a straight shot south on I-95, exit at Sunrise or Broward Boulevard, and the parking at the dock is free. Most of my Palm Beach County anglers tell me the drive feels shorter than crossing town in traffic on a weekday afternoon.
Once the lines are cast off, the 32 foot Contender points north. The Gulf Stream runs closer to shore off Boynton than it does off Lauderdale, so we're often working the color change straight in front of the Boynton Inlet, Ocean Ridge, and Manalapan.
Winter sailfish stack up here from December through March, and this stretch of coast is one of the most reliable sail alleys in the state. I've had days where we raised six sailfish before 10 AM without ever seeing another charter boat.
Spring and summer flip the target list to mahi and blackfin tuna along the weed lines east of the reef. Kingfish and cobia show up on the wrecks. If you want steady rod bends and a cooler full of fillets, mutton snapper and yellowtail on the second and third reefs off Boynton produce all year.
I've been running this coast since the 1980s. That means I know which patch reef holds fish on a north wind and which one shuts off when the current slacks. Oceanfront homeowners on A1A between the Boynton Inlet and Manalapan are some of my most regular Palm Beach clients. They see the sailfish jumping off their own beach in January and want to get out there. Drive west to I-95, then south, and I'll put you on that same water from the deck of the Contender.

Locals near Boynton Harbor Marina and Two Georges Waterfront Grille know the marina hosts drift boats and dive charters, but dedicated sportfishing options are limited. Guests who want a private 32 foot Contender with a tournament-level rig make the short drive south to Cox Landing rather than settling for a shared party boat.
PALM ISLES, ABERDEEN & WEST BOYNTON
Snowbirds and full-time residents in the gated 55-plus communities out on Jog Road and west of Military Trail book a lot of my winter trips. Grandkids in town for the holidays, a golf buddy visiting from Ohio, an anniversary morning on the water, this crowd wants a clean, safe, private charter and doesn't mind the 35 minute run south.
HUNTERS RUN & THE DELRAY BORDER
The golf and tennis communities on the south end of Boynton, near the Delray line, share the same seasonal rhythm. Tenants arrive in November, want to fish sailfish season, and leave in April. I run trips for the same families year after year, and the drive down I-95 from Hunters Run is under 35 minutes at 5:45 AM.

WHAT MAKES BOYNTON BEACH FISHING UNIQUE
Here's the honest part. Cool Runnings does not launch from Boynton Harbor Marina or the Boynton Inlet. If you want a boat that walks out of the marina at the end of your street, that isn't me. Every Cool Runnings trip departs Cox Landing in Fort Lauderdale, roughly 35 minutes south of Boynton via I-95.
Palm Beach County guests ask why they should drive south when Boynton has its own inlet. The answer is fleet depth.
Broward County runs a year-round tournament culture, and the boats reflect that. My 32 foot Contender is rigged for kite fishing sailfish, live-baiting kingfish, and running the deep drop for tilefish and snowy grouper. That level of specialized gear is harder to find on the Palm Beach side.
The good news is the fishing is identical. From Cox Landing I turn north and run the same reef line, the same weed lines, and the same Gulf Stream edge that borders your beach. You leave Boynton at 5:45 AM, park free at the dock, step aboard at 6:15 AM, and we're fishing by 6:45 AM. The Delray Beach charter guests I run for every week follow the exact same routine and have never once complained about the drive.
